 If you know how many pumps of soap are left by lifting the bottle, can sense when a light bulb is on its last lumen, and somehow know when a guest needs a hand with luggage, we should meet.


Our hotel is small, our Team is small, our island is small, but our guest experiences are epic. Our secret? We all work for the guest.

Our Housekeeping Manager needs a trusty year ‘round co-cleaner.

We’re looking for a seasoned, effective Team Clean Lead with outstanding leadership, communication, and time management skills, but our guests demand more.

INN addition to extensive hands-on experience delivering exceptional results as a Housekeeper and Housekeeping Lead, we’re looking for someone who serves-up great guest service.

We have fifteen rooms that range from 295 ft² to 1,475 ft².  Each is unique and each is accessed only by climbing exterior stairs.  Lots of stairs.  No pushing a cart down the hallway here – our buildings are stepped-INN to the hillside.

We take lots of pride INN keeping our guestrooms, common spaces, building, and grounds INN tip-top shape.  Here’s where you come INN:

 

We have fourteen rooms that range from 295 ft² to 1,475 ft². Each is unique and each is accessed only by climbing exterior stairs. Lots of stairs. No pushing a cart down the hallway here – our buildings are stepped-INN to the hillside.

We take lots of pride INN keeping our building, grounds, and guestrooms INN tip-top shape.

Here’s where you come INN:

👋 Guests

You could spend some time at our Front Desk and will be available to guests throughout their stay by phone, INN person, and by text, and maybe after hours a few nights a week.

💪 Team Clean

You’ll clean every day that you’re on the schedule, and guide Team Clean.

This INNcludes grounds and landscape.

🛠️ Maintenance

Preventive and corrective. If it ain’t broke, keep it that way. If it is broke, fix it if you can.

If you can’t fix it, call INN for backup.


💰 Compensation


$23-26 hourly if you’re a top-performer. This is a full-time, year ‘round core team position.

Employee-only housing is possible if you fly solo (sorry, no pets or families) with a light footprint and need a place to land on-island. A private sleeping room is attached to a shared living space. Shared laundry, kitchen, and shower facilities are around the corner. Monthly rents range $350 - $550/month.


✅  Must Haves


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Lead Housekeeper or Team Clean Lead at a hotel of similar size and service level
  • Valid driver’s license and San Juan County Food Handler’s Certificate (may obtain after hire) are required; CPR and First Aid certifications are great
  • This position is physically demanding and regularly requires the Team Clean Lead to be on their feet at least eight hours a day walking quickly up and down stairs most of the day.
  • The uncanny ability to be nice to everyone while demonstrating the right sense of urgency associated with completing projects and tasks with competing priorities
  • Genuine care and concern for our community, colleagues, guests, and planet

👀 Focus


You’ll be responsible for the quality of the guestrooms and physical environment that we provide our guests and Team.

Here’s how that looks:

  • Actively participate INN daily room, common space, property, and grounds cleaning and maintenance
  • Guide the daily work product and task assignment of Team Clean; coordinating room re_freshes, turns, guest requests, arrivals, and departures so that we deliver on our promise to every guest every stay
  • Conduct daily room and property INNspections to ensure top-notch Team performance
  • Understand, learn more about, and train others on the Inn’s Property Management software, text messaging platform, phone system, and other equipment like televisions, Rokus, DirecTV, HVAC, fireplaces, and the Inn’s computer network
  • Understand, learn more about, and train others on current and future online platforms, and third-party extranets
  • Help maintain an adequate INNventory of cleaning, maintenance, guestroom, and property supplies
  • Participate at least two nights per week in our ‘After Hours Ambassador’ program, being available “on-call” to our guests and Team during overnight periods
  • Keep us as green as it gets

  • Help guide all Team Members, and keep track of who’s clocking-in, late or absent, dressed properly, calling off or replacing shifts
  • Coordinate breaks and schedules to maintain the Inn’s standards and a jovial work environment
  • Help reward and correct Team members; address complaints and resolve challenges

You’ll need to be at the ready to assist our guests.
       

Cleaning   

Your primary focus will be guestroom turns and refreshes.

You'll also clean common spaces daily.

Maintenance    

Replace light bulbs and batteries, clean filters, wash windows. 

Call-INN backup for more complex challenges.

     Grounds           

You'll regularly tidy the exterior of the property and landscaping.

After all, we won't get a second chance to make a first impression.


✅ Compensation 


 

$20 - $23/hour if you commit to and fulfill a minimum of four months, and you’re a top-performer.

On-call | Property Maintenance Tech - No housing available

 


 You'll need your own housing on San Juan Island to be eligible for this role.

Compensation:                     

$25 - $30/hour based on experience, qualifications, and skill set.  Benefits could INNclude Health INNsurance, Sick Leave, and perks around town.

Overview:

The best guest experience starts with a top-notch property.  We need a maintenance pro to join our small but mighty team to be sure that we meet our own high standards, and exceed our guests’ expectations.  If you’re a reliable maintenance person adept at a variety of tasks both INNside and out, we’d sure like to meet you.  

INN season hours are around 25 hrs/week May - October.  As our occupancy goes down, your hours could go up November - February.  Of course, we always need a hand cleaning guestrooms, so, if you’re interested INN joining Team Clean, we’d have lots more summer season hours available!

At least 3 years’ experience operating a variety of power tools and outdoor power equipment INN a professional commercial setting

A varied skill set that INNcludes knowledge of general INNterior and exterior maintenance and repair

Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the work day and keep all maintenance storerooms and work areas tidy and organized

Knowing when to call INN a subcontractor or specialist for technical or specialized repairs

Knowledge of building cleaning and maintenance procedures and methods

Strong sense of urgency with the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies


Tasks will INNclude but not be limited to:

General repair and maintenance:  carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and electronics

Landscape maintenance:  planting bed maintenance, pruning, and sidewalk clearing (snow & debris)

Exterior cleaning:  glass, awnings, siding, decking, membrane roofs, etc.

Interior cleaning:  glass, carpets, furniture, tile, grout, fireplaces, appliances, dryer ducts

Interior and exterior painting:  patching, staining, caulking, and sealing

Preventive maintenance:  water heater, HVAC, wheelchair lift, and life safety systems

Quick fixes:  INN-room work orders generated by Hotel guests and Team

Experience Ambassadors guide guests through their experience as their personal champion. Ambassadors are also lots of roles rolled INN to one:  Concierge, Front Desk, Reservations, Porter, and more. Most important? Experience Ambassadors keep everything straight for everyone as our hotel’s version of an air traffic controller.

 

    Communication           

Exemplary and crystal clear communication via e-mail, website chat, text-platform chat, INN-person, phone, two-way radio, carrier pigeon, echolocation, and INNternal notes.

 

Computing

Computer confidence for managing our online INNterfaces: property management software, INNtranet, text, webchat, extranets, Microsoft Office products, and more.
