Summer Fun INN the San Juans
Whatever your flavor, San Juan Island and Friday Harbor have something for you this summer!
Friday Harbor Art Market
On Fridays, June 21 – September 20, local artists will be set up at the Brickworks Plaza on Sunshine Alley. Pottery, photography, paintings, woodwork, clothing and more are all on display and available for purchase from 3pm – 7pm.
Saturday Farmer’s Market
Every Saturday, stop by the San Juan Island Farmer’s Market to fill your basket or reusable bag with fresh, local produce, flowers, eggs, baked goods, grass-fed meats, goat cheese, artwork by local artists, and so much more!
Or stop by to enjoy live music by the market band and guest musicians. The Farmer’s Market is a favorite local gathering spot that exemplifies the importance of community and a sustainable lifestyle. The Market is also located at the Brickworks Plaza and is open from 10am – 1pm.
Music on the Lawn
Every Wednesday night from July 9 – August 6 you can enjoy an evening of live music at the San Juan Historical Museum on 405 Price St. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and a picnic! Music usually begins around 6:30pm.
Drive In(n) Movie at the Fairgrounds
Check out the new drive INN at the San Juan County Fairgrounds! Next show is on Saturday July 5th and features “Back to the Future.” Movies begin at dusk and parking opens at 8:15pm. All larger vehicles will be parked at the back. Admission is $5. BYOP (Bring Your Own Popcorn)!
13th Annual Lavender Festival
Saturday & Sunday July 19 – 20, head on over to the Pelindaba Lavender Farm for tons of lavender related fun! Stroll the fields that will be in full bloom, taste lavender lemonade & iced tea, lavender cookies, create lavender works of art in the craft tent, or watch demonstrations ranging from cultivation to cooking with lavender. The Lavender Farm is about a 15 minute drive from the town of Friday Harbor. Parking and admission are free!
5th Annual Friday Harbor Fly-INN
The 5th Annual Friday Harbor Fly-in & Open House will be located at the Friday Harbor Airport on July 26 starting with a Pancake Breakfast at 8am, then the Fly In from 10am – 3pm. In past years, spectators have enjoyed fly-bys of rare aircraft from the Heritage Flight Museum in Bellingham and Historic Flight at Paine Field in Everett. You can also expect the impressive Blackjack Squadron back once again! Admission and parking are free as well as a specially-marked shuttle from downtown Friday Harbor.
