A Walk INN a San Juan Island National Park
A walk INN the park
The best part about summer time INN the San Juan Islands? The weather!
With temperatures forecasted to be INN the high 60’s to low 80’s this month, it’s the perfect time to get out and about. Though kayaking and whale watching are highly publicized (and really fun) San Juan Island adventures, San Juan Island and Friday Harbor also offer plenty of opportunity for history buffs, hikers and landlubbers to have some fun too.
San Juan Island is home to two National Parks; American Camp and English Camp. So go ahead, tour the gardens, trails and madrona decorated grounds of English Camp or walk around the fields of American Camp and spot some eagles and foxes. Learn about the joint occupation on the Island, how they lived and what they were doing! Or, take it up a notch and enjoy one of the living history reenactments, featuring blacksmithing, weaving and the military equipment and necessary skills.
Need more?! There’s also a Pig War walk for those of you who haven’t heard about our one casualty war. Spoiler alert: the casualty was a pig. If history and war is less your style, show up for one of our nature walks. Learn about San Juan Island wildlife and birds, all while enjoy the jaw-dropping scenery and warm weather.
There’s something for everybody on San Juan Island, including comfortable accommodations INN the middle of town at our San Juan Island Hotel, the island Inn at 123 West!
