Saturday, July 21st marks the third annual Fly-Inn and Open House! Wander through home-built aircraft, antiques, and former military war birds at this free event from 10am to 3pm! Many hangars with displays will be open to the public as well. There'll food, drink and knickidy knacks, and, of course, no good ol' Friday Harbor event would be complete without live music! Face-painting and other activities will keep the whole family entertained.
Make sure to enter the contest to win a free plane or helicopter ride from local pilots!
The Navy's Fly-By will announce the opening ceremony at 10am with an EA 18G Growler and an EA 6B Prowler from the Whidbey Island Naval Base! On display to behold up close (and even touch) will be the Navy's rescue helicopter. At noon, Grumpy the B-25 will make a signature flight overhead. This historic WWII aircraft served in both Europe and the Pacific. Other airplanes and helicopters will also fly inn and out!
The airport is just a quick drive - or a leisurely walk - from our Friday Harbor hotel! Don't forget to take advantage of our SWEET Summertime deal for stays Sunday - Thursday, now through August 30th, to get 10% off with the secret code: SWEET!!
