Set Sail
When did you and your lil' buccaneer last brave the high seas by ferry boat?! Catch the Washington State Ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor and let the exploration begin! Go out on the deck of the boat and keep an eye out for amazing wildlife that calls the San Juan Islands home. Spy a seal splashing in the wakes or a bald eagle soaring high above.

Mom, can I have a seal?!
You'll meet Pop Eye, one of San Juan Island's furry mascots, just steps from our Inn. Pop Eye is a harbor seal who hangs out around the docks waiting for her pals to throw her some fishy treats. Stroll down and say hello.

Seals can be pretty persuasive if you don't feed her. Expect a good splashing if you go empty-handed!
Who knew?
Head up the hill from the docks and find the Friday Harbor Whale Museum. Come face to face with life-sized orca replicas and skeletons, learn how different pods call each other and enjoy many more interactive activities.

Take a Hike
Your tike can even try on a ranger cap while exploring the easy yet beautiful nature hikes all around American Camp leading to South Beach at the southern tip of the Island.
