Pacific Northwest Hiking
The San Juan Island outdoors offer something for everyone whether you prefer to explore by foot or float. Our favorite San Juan Island hiking trails take you through curious tidal pools, amazing shoreline rock outcroppings, atop abandoned quarries and limekilns or through vibrant fields of swaying wildflowers.
Lime Kiln on the West side of San Juan Island offers fun topography and the best land based whale watching in the San Juan Islands.
Highland trails in the Northern portion of the island offer a great opportunity to explore Historic San Juan Island from a different angle.
The Cattle Point trail system could very well be the most diverse and fun on the island. Traverse old logging roads and open prairie with coastal beaches and driftwood in the distance.
Of course, you’ll need comfortable accommodations once the day’s adventure has ended!
*Please be sure to either have or be prepared to purchase a Discovery Pass to visit one of our beautiful state parks!
